Tips for Thrifty Gift Giving
No one wants to give a gift and make it look like they are cheap. There are several ways you can be thrifty about gift giving without short-changing the other person. Check out this guide to thrifty gift-giving.
Sales
If you’re going to be a thrifty gift-giver, then always go for the sales. There are dozens of sales that happen each year, and this is the perfect time to buy all of those gifts. The only issue here is that you need to be smart about knowing what you need. I usually have a bin that I keep in my closet that I throw sale items in. That way, I usually have something on hand if needed.
Creations
Thanks to Pinterest, you can create gifts at home that look as though you bought them at the store. There’s nothing more beautiful than a handcrafted creation that the recipient wants to keep. Take your time with this and create gifts that will last forever (in a good way).
Save Early
Gifts can be really expensive, and that’s why you should start saving early. It’s smart to start saving in January, so you can have money all year round for gift-giving. Put back $10 or $20 a week, so you can have a large sum of money when it’s time to start shopping.
Coupons
I know you already know about coupons, but it’s important to use them when it’s to your advantage. When you use a coupon at the right time, you can save oodles of money. Don’t go spend money just because you have a coupon. It’s important to tell that coupon who’s boss and who’s trying to save!
One of the best gifts you can give out there is one that really comes from the heart. Spend time thinking about what a person will love and cherish. Sometimes it’s not about getting the best deals, but sitting down and figuring out what that person will love is the important part of gift giving.
