Weight Loss Lunch

Changes to Lose Weight

Right after Memorial Day, I made some dietary changes to lose weight.  These changes weren’t fancy, and I did start walking a little more recently.  However, through mainly changes in my diet, I am happy to say that I have lost 20.4 lbs so far this summer.  I know that summer is basically over, but I still plan on keeping to this new way of eating because I have more weight that I want to lose.

My Lunch

One of the first changes I made was to overhaul what I eat for lunch.  Our cafeteria at work tries to offer light fare, but quite often there is a lot of pasta.  Knowing I have to limits things like this, I started packing my lunch and eating in the break room.  This made the temptation less.

I try to make sure there are at least servings of fruits and veggies in my lunch.  I eat one at break and the other two at lunch.  The main portion of my lunch is usually a small stack of crackers, Laughing Cow cheese wedges, and hummus.  This combination is filling without taking up a large chunk of my allowable daily food intake.

I mentioned that I have a piece of fruit with my break.  Fruit by itself is not very filling, but when I add a small bar to the mix, it is just the right amount to carry me over until lunch.  At this point, my favorite bar is the GoMacro Macrobar mini.  These are small but just the right amount with a piece of fruit to power through the morning.

I received a box of assorted Macrobar minis to try out.  There are 24 bars in the box for $30.95, and these bars are 100% vegan, USDA certified organic, certified non-GMO, Gluten-Free, and made from mostly raw ingredients.  You can see all the flavors that come in this box.  Don and I both tried these out.  Every flavor.  I don’t think I ate one that I didn’t like.  Of course, there were ones that I liked more than others, like the peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate chip.  But in all, I was very pleased.  The texture is not like a cereal bar.  It’s kind of hard to describe, but it is soft and chewy.  I thought it is a nice addition to my dietary changes.

If you are interested in try out GoMacro for yourself, GoMacro is happy to offer each of you a one time 40% discount off your first order.  Just head to their shopping page and enter the code BLOGGER when you check out.  Make sure to follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
