I had never heard of a Waterproof Bible until I saw a post online recently. I had been looking for a new Bible for DS9 and felt that this might be a good one for him. I was planning on hiding this Bible away until Christmas, but when it came, DS9 kept asking what was in the package. Not wanting to keep him from the Word of God, I opened it up and let him see it. He immediately grabbed it and took it into the living room to read.
When he saw it was waterproof, he asked if it would be alright to take it into the bathtub. Well, I knew it COULD go in the bathtub, but did I want him to take it there? Curiosity won out, and away he went. I didn’t go in to see it, but Don did. Don said that DS9 had it open when he lowered it into the water. He said that the water ran into the spine of the Bible and it began to go under water; however, it didn’t seem to sink all the way down. He said it was hard to see, so we may try a bigger scale experiment later.
If you are looking for a conversation-opener to witness to someone, the spine of this Bible certainly provides! Who could resist looking at a waterproof Book?
So, I did have to test this waterproof claim for myself. Can you see the water standing on the page above? Yes, it stood. Never soaked in. Wiped dry with no smearing. And the pages seem so much stronger/substantial than most Bible pages. Safer for small hands to turn.
A Waterproof Bible would make the perfect gift for Christmas! What a perfect gift for someone on a day that we celebrate our Savior’s birth!
