DS9 has had problems learning time. It is such an abstract concept to learn, so it has been a challenge finding just the right product to help him. He learns better with colorful, interactive products, so I was happy when Learning Resources offered me the chance to review their Magnetic Elapsed Time Set.
I like that the minute numbers are listed on the outer ring of each clock. It makes it easier to associate the number of minutes with the numbers on the clock. I also like the dot in the center that helps DS9 know exactly where to put the hands.
The best part of this system is the timeline that helps show how much time has elapsed between the two times on the clocks.
Take a closer look at the timeline. Do you see the color changes in the middle of the picture? That is where a.m. changes to p.m. This visual method helps teach the most difficult concept of the switch between a.m. and p.m., and the switch between p.m. and a.m.
Does this look like something that could help your child? You can order a Magnetic Elapsed Time Set for $24.99, or you could be lucky enough to win the set given away here.
