TADA! from Pretty Darn Cute

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been changing a few things here and there on the blog.  I was getting a little tired of the darker colors and wanted a brighter color scheme.  While trying to decide what to do, I noticed a new theme by Pretty Darn Cute called Pretty Chic.  I decided to buy it, but I wasn’t quite sure how to make the change.  (Of course, now she has another new theme called FUN that I would LOVE to get!)

Not long after I bought Pretty Chic, I saw Lindsey post that she had a new video tutorial service called TADA! and decided that I needed to try it out.  TADA! is a collection of short videos that gives basic blog information in a visual way.  For this person who wasn’t sure how to change the theme of her blog out, this set of videos is great!  Lindsey has several videos up, and my favorite two so far teach about the Genesis theme settings and widgets.

So, what did I do with what I learned in TADA!?  Well, the extent of my coding skills were <center> </center>.  Yep, that’s about it.  However, after watching the videos, I was able to change the theme.  I was also able to find the background color and change it to a color that matched my new header colors.  I wasn’t sure how to change the margins of the background, so I asked someone for help with that.  I’m still working on the header to see about making it bigger in the space allowed.  The header used to stay at the top of the screen, so it was always visible.  It wasn’t quite what I wanted, and so I emailed support.  I have to say that Pretty Darn Cute’s support response is quick and thorough.  Susan told me what to look for in the coding and told me what to change, so now the header scrolls with the rest of the page.

Susan also answered my question about the preview pictures, too.  I had tried the thumbnail option, but that size was a little too small for what I wanted.  I then tried to set it to 300×300, thinking that it would do like the thumbnails did but only in the larger size.  Nope, that didn’t work, and Susan confirmed that it wouldn’t.  Who knew?  So I played around with the different options and found just what I was looking for.

I can’t wait to see what tutorials are added to TADA! next!  Lindsey also has a form where you can suggest topics for upcoming video tutorials!  TADA! is currently priced at $59.99, but as Lindsey adds videos the price will go up.  If you purchase now at this price, you will always have access to the full video library.
