If you have been around here for a while, you probably know I have a background in laboratory medicine. Now, that really doesn’t mean that I have a warped sense of humor, but I do like fun things that bring some basic things to life for kids (and kids of all ages). I mean, not everyone has the opportunity to look in a microscope and see the different “bugs” that cause diseases. Some of these are so small that they can’t even be seen in the microscope that I would use in the hospital or my microscope at home. That’s why I like GIANTmicrobes and their unique look on these different organisms.
GIANTmicrobes has three boxed sets of microbe Christmas tree ornaments, and before I share the link with you… Yes, these ornaments are hanging on my tree, along with another set from last year. Anyway, GIANTmicrobes has three sets this year. These sets sell for $24.95 per set. The wreath box is new this year, and it contains the following ornaments:
Sore Throat singing Christmas carols, White Blood Cell dressed up as a snowman with top hat and carrot nose, Stomach Ache as a delectable gingerbread man, Nerve Cell with angel wings and halo, and a limited edition shimmering gold Amoeba, only available in this set!
I really like this set, especially the sore throat singing Christmas carols! But GIANTmicrobes has even more new fun!
GIANTmicrobes has branched off into the Computer Virus world. So, I thought these were even more different than the microbes. I got the Trojan virus and a malware keychain. These would be great choices for a computer geek!
Here you can see the 0’s and 1’s a little closer. I’m sure many IT and computer whizzes would get a huge kick out of something like this! Do you have a computer person in your life that would love a “computer virus” around the office?
