Pacsafe is known for their “smart travel gear”. In my mind, I see it more as “safe” travel gear because of the different safeguards that are placed in their different bags. Pacsafe makes gear for all kinds of travel from business to adventure. Of course, business travel can be an adventure, can’t it. Take a look at some of their true adventure gear! Those backpacks sure look sturdy.
I chose to review the Metrosafe 200 GII Anti-Theft Shoulder Bag. This bag is so much sturdier than I ever dreamed it would be!
The Metrosafe 200 GII bag has an interior sleeve large enough to hold an iPad or tablet. Can you see my iPad in there? I have a protective case on my iPad, but it still fits in the sleeve. As you can see, there is also quite a bit more room in the main pocket of this bag.
There are several safety measures that are placed in this bag. See the little tag on the pocket in the picture above? That pouch is a pocket that uses special blocking materials to keep your personal information stored on items with RFID chips safe from identity thieves. The pocket is big enough to hold your passport and credit cards. The bag also contains stainless steel wire mesh in the panels to keep your items from falling out of the bag if a would-be thief slashes the bag.
My favorite safety feature of this bag! Click on the picture above, so you can see it in a larger picture. The zipper pull is locked on the strap clip. I mean locked! It takes a little effort to twist the lock mechanism to get it open, so the zipper can be removed from the clip. That’s a good thing because that means that it would take a would-be thief a little time and effort, too. It means that he likely wouldn’t be able to do it without me knowing about it. And the strap on the case? It is a slash-proof strap. It is reinforced with stainless steel wire, so it can’t be easily cut. It actually feels stronger than my seat belt.
Why would all this matter to me? I don’t like to risk having my personal information (Passport, credit card, electronics) stolen at any time, let alone when I am traveling. When I travel, I am usually with my kids. Not having to worry about someone stealing my personal information means I can pay closer attention to watching my kids, especially if we are traveling alone. Pacsafe gives me peace of mind.
You can purchase the Metrosafe 200 GII Anti-Theft Shoulder Bag on Pacsafe’s website for $80.
