Disneynature’s Chimpanzee is in theaters beginning April 20. Every year, we wait anxiously to see the new Disneynature film, and this year is no exception. It is not just the great cinematography that draws us to these films… It is the educational value, and the chance to see something that we may never get to see in person.
I also have a couple of educational resources to share with you to potentially incorporate in your schooling. The first resource is an activity book.
The above picture just shows one of the 19 activity sheets that are contained in the activity book. Other sheets include dot-to-dots, a maze, a mask, and sheets about chimpanzees and other wild animals.
Another educational resource that Disneynature has compiled is the Disneynature Chimpanzee Educator’s Guide. The Educator’s Guide contains over 100 pages of lessons and activities geared toward grades 2-6. The lessons are aligned to the National Science Education Standards and include audio and video clips from the movie. I know we are looking forward to starting our way through this guide next week.
But that’s not all we are looking forward to… We are looking forward to actually seeing the movie. Are you going to watch it with us? Remember, Disneynature will donate a portion of the first week’s sales to the Jane Goodall Institute.
We saw it tonight it is amazing. Hoping to get a blog post up tomorrow about it.
I am so psyched I found this blog! Thank you for the free activity book and link to the Disney e-Book. I’m downloading it now. This will be a wonderful fun lesson for the kids. I realize this post was old, but what makes that great is that this movie is coming out on DVD August 21st! I pre-0rdered the dvd and purchased the Disney Flamingo Dvd (you save $8 on the purchase of 2) from Amazon.
