ABCs of Homeschooling – “J” is for …

Here it is Tuesday with Dawn over at 5 Kids and a Dog.  I really love ABCs of Homeschooling time of the week because it really makes me reflect about why and how we do what we do!  I will miss it when we make it through the entire alphabet.

Today, we are on the letter “J”.  Since our “G” was God, our “J” must be Jesus!  Jesus was the ultimate teacher!  How I would have loved to sit at His feet to learn!

In Matthew 19:14 (NIV), Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  We want to teach our children to live Christian lives and have a desire to go to Heaven.  While we need academics to live on Earth, we also need to grow closer to Jesus.

In John 14:6 (NIV), Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  Our goal as parents is to teach our children that through Jesus‘ death on the cross, we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven.

J is JESUS! And with Him it is always YES! Without Him I would not be here. Praise the Lord!

Without Him, we wouldn’t be here, either!

🙂 My post was about Jesus, too! What a blessing to be able to share our faith with our children day in and day out!

I’m glad to see that there were several of us with the same “J” focus! It’s the best part of homeschooling!

We are very blessed to have this freedom. I think of those in so many other countries who don’t have the right to homeschool…

When I finally wrote my post last night, I really could not think of anything to put but Jesus. Without Him as the center, it would all fail, wouldn’t it?
