Flying Turns at Knoebels

I previously told you about our family’s experience at Knoebel’s Amusement park on October 6, 2013 and how my son wasn’t able to go on Flying Turns.  You can read about that here.  We tried every means available to contact Knoebel’s, but no one would respond to us.  We finally sent another letter on October 21, and on October 23, two gentlemen from Knoebel’s reached out to us.  I was at work, so they talked to my husband.  They offered to let us come the next day to ride the roller coaster.  Knowing that I had to work and couldn’t get off, Don asked if there was any way that we could be accommodated on Sunday when the family could go together.  You see, we like to do things as a family, especially something this big.  My husband was told no and that Thursday, the next day, was the only option.

I hope Don has a chance to write about his and the kids’ experience as I have been given very few details.  You see, I am very thankful that the kids got to ride this unique roller coaster; however, I’m sure that many moms will understand this.  For me, it’s not riding the ride, it’s watching the kids enjoy the ride.  Experience the ride.  Hear them shriek and scream with joy.  Other people got to see and hear that.  I did not.  I missed seeing my children’s enjoyment.  I asked my daughter about the ride, and her response was, “Mom, you’ve got to go ride it!”  Multiple times I heard this yesterday.  But, you see, this weekend, tomorrow and the next day, is the last weekend of the season.  I have a lot on my “to-do” list for this weekend.  Much more than my weekend will allow, and adding “*Wait in a line for a couple of hours to ride a roller coaster by myself” is not something that I can do.  Not to mention, it is not any fun to wait in line by myself, nor is it any fun to ride any ride without my kids.  So, I guess that is it.

If anyone actually rides Flying Turns, please come back and tell me about it.  My children won’t unless I ride it, and that doesn’t seem to be an option.

If you are disabled in ANY way and want to ride Flying Turns, please call Knoebel’s directly to see if they are willing to accommodate you.  Our continued experience is that they will likely not be able to accommodate you on this ride.

As I said, I hope that Don has an opportunity to write about their time there, yesterday.  I am thankful that they had the chance to ride it, and I think they had a good time, but as I said, I wasn’t there.
