When we started this blog, we made a statement about blogging under aliases. I blogged under my middle name, Becky. I can’t say how nice it was to be known as Becky because I always dreamed of using my middle name when I was a kid. My first name is Naomi. Do you know how many ways Naomi can be pronounced? I personally lost count. My husband went as Charlie. This is his middle name, as well as, being a childhood nickname. His first name is Don.
We also wanted to retain some anonymity for our family. This is part of the reason that the pictures of our kids are from the side or back.
Like most homeschooling families, we had long range plans for when our children left the nest. By training, I am a laboratorian. I had planned on going back to work at some point, but with our children’s medical concerns, I don’t know if or when that would happen. Due to increasing medical bills, we decided to revamp our long range plans and look for a job for me that I could do from home. The obvious answer was to do something that I already have knowledge of. Since I can’t run a laboratory out of my house, we decided to look for something else. When all of the training and setup for my new job is done, I will announce what the job is.
Due to the nature of my new job, I will be changing all of my social media accounts to my legal name, Naomi Maclaren. I wanted to let everyone know that this change was coming. I already had my Twitter account listed as “Becky Mac aka Naomi” in case something like this happened. I hope that everyone will understand and realize that we are the same people with the same issues and likes. Nothing has changed…other than the fact that I have to leave my dream name behind and become just Naomi.
