I’m joining up with Sarah over at Magical Days with the Mouse, but first, I want to say something off topic.

In case you hadn’t noticed, things look a little different here.  Of course, here is a different “here”, too.  I’ve been working with Honey over at Sunflower Schoolhouse to change things up a bit.  She has been WONDERFUL to work with and is REALLY talented.  If you need a blog redesign or maybe just some designing here and there, contact Honey.  Here is where you can find her graphic design section.

Now, on to my flashback.  Those of you with kids can appreciate the anticipation that happens right before a Disney trip.  The children asking, “How much longer?”  Or maybe, it is the incessant multiple daily reminders, “Mommy, it’s only 5 more days until we go!”  Over the past week, we have heard DD11 count down the days.  We heard her say, “Only 5 more days until my birthday!”  Only, these reminders were not just once each day.  So, DD11 will turn into DD12 over the weekend.  Thursday evening, DD11 asked me if I was going to write a post about her birthday this weekend, so here is her post.

First trip meeting with Buzz Lightyear.

DD11 has always been tall for her age.  She was 8 years old in the picture, and you can see that while she is tall, she is still shorter than Buzz.

This picture was taken in February of this year.  While DD11 is still not as tall as Buzz, she is not far away.  {Yes, she is taller than me by 3 inches.}  Because it may still be hard for you to see just how tall she is, let me throw in a picture with a princess.

This picture was also taken in February of this year.  Even without DD11 standing straight up, she was taller than Princess Jasmine.  In fact, DD11 was taller than every princess on that trip.  Our little girl is growing up and is “little” no more.  Alas, that is my flashback to a time when DD11 was not taller than me.  When she still looked like our little girl.

So, I would like to wish our daughter a Happy 12th Birthday!

What a fun flashback. It’s amazing to see their growth, and I love how you can see that with Buzz.

Thanks, Sarah! I will make sure that she sees your comment! When she gets up in the morning, she likes to read what has been posted overnight. She has really gotten into blogging, and I think that I will let her write some in the future.

Wow – she is tall! My 11 year old daughter is tall too. I can’t believe how quickly they grow up – right before our eyes. Please tell your daughter “happy birthday” from one Disney lover to another!
