Three Great Reasons to Clean Your Car This Spring

I don’t know about you, but my car is dirty.  First, it had a layer of salt and winter grime all over it, and now…  Well, now, it has a layer of that nasty yellow pollen on it.  My car needs to visit a car wash.  You know, it has been years; since, I drove through a car wash.  You might wonder why…  Well, I had a car that I purchased in 1997.  It was almost 18 years old, and the seals were not as intact as they were back then.  It didn’t leak normally, but I was afraid of what would happen with the pressure of an automatic car wash.

This winter, I traded my old car in for a new one.  Let me tell you, my new car managed the winter MUCH better than my old one did.  It deserves to be all shiny and new-looking again!

Not quite sure you are ready to clean your car, yet?  Let me share the “3 great reasons to clean your car this spring from the International Carwash Association (ICA).  “ICA, through its Wash with WaterSavers consumer awareness campaign, is committed to promoting the importance of using eco-friendly carwashes that use less water and return clean water back into the environment.”

Reason #1:  Your car is a reflection of who you are

Your car is an extension of you and your personality!  Are you a “sporty” car person or a “SUV” type person?  If your car reflects you, what does it say about you if it is dirty?  Do you go to work dirty?  Do you show you take care of yourself by shaving before leaving the house?  Why not take care of your car, too?

From dirt and dust to grit and grime, give that car its reflective shine at a WaterSavers car wash. WaterSavers professional car washes use an average of 40 gallons of fresh water or less per car, according to the International Carwash Association. As a frame of reference, that 10 minute shower you took used 25 gallons of fresh water. WaterSavers washes also recycle and filter the water to prevent harmful chemicals from entering groundwater supplies that feed rivers and streams. To find a WaterSavers car wash near you, visit Washwithwatersavers.com.

Reason #2:  Regular car washes protect your paint job

Your car looked beautiful when you pulled out of the dealer, didn’t it?  I know mine did!  Regular car washing and waxing can help maintain that new car look.

Reason #3:  Professional car washes help maintain the value of the vehicle

I know I tend to spend more money on what is under the hood than the outside appearance of my vehicle.  However, maintaining the outside can be just as important, if not more so.  What about all that salt left under your car after the winter snow is gone?  That salt can cause corrosion to the muffler and exhaust system.  Professional car washes can help remove that salt buildup on the undercarriage of your car.

For more information about the benefits of keeping your car clean visit www.washwithwatersavers.com.

I’m ready to take my new car to the car wash now!  I just wish I lived closer to a WaterSavers car wash.  Do you have one nearby?
