Starting the Day with My Glasstic Water Bottle

Glasstic Glass Water Bottle

I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to drink more water and (GASP!) less coffee.  Notice that I didn’t say that I’m totally cutting out coffee because I know I can’t do that.  Baby steps…

I like to drink water, but I like it flavored.  Sometimes, I flavor my water with herbal tea, and sometimes, I flavor it with essential oils.  What I’ve heard from people who sell essential oils is that it is best to use glass and stay away from plastic when using citrus oils.  In my quest for a glass bottle, I found Glasstic Water Bottles.

I’m kind of a klutz and was afraid of carrying around a glass bottle for fear of breaking it and having glass shards all over the place.  I had seen a couple of glass bottles at the store and could see how this would happen very easily.  Glasstic, on the other hand, has the glass contained within a “casing” of plastic (BPA free).  So, I wondered how Glasstic could make the claim, “shatterproof glass water bottle”…  If you want to find out, check out the videos on their website.  That is really impressive!  Glasstic has really thought ahead, too.  They sell replacement lids and replacement inserts.  If your glass insert breaks, you don’t have to buy a whole new bottle.  Just replace the insert.  Having said that, they have designed the inserts to be as sturdy as possible.

How does it work in really life?  Personally, this bottle has a few design elements that I LOVE!  First, check out the handle.  As I juggle my things for work in the morning, I don’t have to devote a hand to just carry my drink.  I slip my hand through the handle and use the same hand to grab something else.  Second, do you see the little purple plastic piece sticking out of the lid on the right-hand side?  That is a lock.  I can lock the lid, and it won’t come open.  LOVE it!

Also, I love how easily and quickly the bottle disassembles for cleaning.  A quick clean, and it is ready to go again.

I drink my water plain. I am lucky enough to have great tap water where I live so I like it just from the tap with some ice cubes on those hot days.

I drink my water both plain and with flavoring. I use tea, lemonade and berry flavorings for various companies.

depends on the temperature–sometimes I like some citrus (lemon, lime or even grapefruit, sometimes with cukes and mint) but when it’s really hot I just like it cold and plain.

I flavor my water with 100% natural lemonade mix. It’s so good and it’s good for me which is so important because I’m pregnant with my first child.
