I received a free copy of this book for the purpose of this review.
Are you a fan of Amish fiction? I am, and my favorite Amish fiction writer is Tricia Goyer. It really amazes me how she can come up with so many unique stories! I haven’t read one that I didn’t like.
The Kissing Bridge starts out as Rebecca is getting ready to leave home. Rebecca is an Amish young women with memories of her sister dying in childbirth and a desire to make things better for those in her community. However, there is a problem. The Amish don’t send their girls off to college. Rebecca has been taking classes on the sly and has a plan to leave the community to go to a college across the country. She leaves with a small case of Englisch clothes and cellphone on a train heading West. She remembers a friend, Marianna who left the faith before her and sees that Marianna and her husband live close to one of the train depots she will pass. On a whim, she dials her friend and arranges to stop for a visit. It is there that her life will forever change…
Yes, I know that is brief and a cliffhanger, but this book is so good that I really want you to read it. I started out with a copy on my phone to read, and I have to tell you that I was staring into that phone for hours reading this book! I couldn’t see when I finished and am now happy to be the owner of a real book, so I can go back and read it again.
If you are interested in reading The Kissing Bridge for yourself, you can find it on Amazon in paperback format (currently $11.97) and Kindle (currently $7.99). You could also check at your local library to see if they have a copy or can get a copy. I hope you enjoy!
