Random Thoughts with Mickey on My Mind

Mickey Mouse

Do you ever just look over your pictures and marvel at all the things you’ve seen or done?  I know I do.  Not all of my photos are of Disney; however, no matter where we go or what we do, we still have fun as a family.  I know that many may think this is heresy, but…  Disney isn’t the only place out there to visit.  Yes, I did just type that!  There are so many things to see and do elsewhere.

While we do go to many other places besides Disney, we tend to almost always compare rides and customer service to Disney standards.  You know what?  Many places meet and even exceed Disney standards!  You know why?  Well, in many cases, customer service is not just due to a company’s standards.  It comes down to the customer service skills of the person who is handling the issue at the time.

SkyView

A place where we had a great time this summer is Hershey Park!  And look at this ride!  Does it remind you of something?  Years ago when I first went to Disneyland, there was a great attraction called the Skyway.  It was fun to ride it through the Matterhorn!  Unfortunately, it was shut down long ago, but it does live on Yesterland!  The picture above was taken at Hershey Park, and the ride is called the Skyview.  The kids enjoyed riding this!

Old Sign

The kids and I are history nuts!  We love to find unique older items to look at.  One day as we were in search of a covered bridge, we saw this old sign.  It was all by itself on a flat empty piece of land.  Isn’t it neat with all the vegetation hanging off it?

Muppets Most Wanted

The last of my random thoughts for the day is about Disney Muppets Most Wanted.  DS11 was looking over my shoulder when I was on Facebook yesterday, and he saw a reminder that this movie is coming out next Tuesday.  I’m not sure his sister is as excited as he is, but I’m sure that we will be buying this movie.  While the kids may have movie wars, I’m sure Kermit will be taking up residence on the couch with Constantine to watch this movie.

What are your random thoughts today?
