Customized Tailor Made Whiteboard

Tailor Made Whiteboards makes “whiteboards” to help keep life organized, and they sent me one free of charge to try out and share my thoughts with you.  I gave one away on the blog in November while I was waiting for my board to arrive.  Tailor Made Whiteboards have many different types of boards that they make:  Activity Planners, Chore Boards, and Menu Planners.  While these board types would take care of most people, I wanted something a little different.

I wanted something that I could use to help organize our homeschooling.  Now that Don is helping with some of the schooling, we needed a better way to communicate what needs to be done.  A “whiteboard” like this would fit the bill.

In looking around and talking with the Tailor Made Whiteboard representative, we decided that the “Chalkboard” Chore Board ($79.95) was the closest to what I was looking for.  The thing is that I wanted it to have school terms on it.  So, the kind people at Tailor Made Whiteboards removed two days of the week in order to enlarge each day’s writing space.  We normally only school five days per week, so we really didn’t need the weekend days.  See how they changed the title to say “Homeschool Planning”?  You know that I normally call my kids DD14 and DS10, so I did remove their names from my picture and replace them, so you could see where the names were.  Their real names are actually on the board I received, so it is easy to make sure that the lesson plans are on the right side.  Also, do you see the photo in the lower right-hand corner?  Isn’t it neat that the boards can be customized to be unique to each owner?  I’m sure there is normally a customization fee for changing up the design (not talking about the photo), but I wasn’t told what that fee was.

I was sent a cool pack of Wet Erase Markers to go with my board.  These are priced at $9 for the set, and I LOVE the bright colors! The frame that I received also has a nice tray to hold the markers on.

You can see many of the different whiteboard options on the Tailor Made Whiteboard website.  I like that there is an option to get a “changeable” frame.  That way, I could get another board later to replace the homeschool planner one with.  Obviously, we will eventually finish up homeschooling and will want to use this for another purpose.  I’m supposed to have a “changeable” frame; however, I really didn’t want to unscrew it at this point to see.  I like it currently just the way it is!

If you are a homeschooler, you might want to check out Tailor Made Whiteboard to see if they can help you find a board that can work for your homeschool.

Disclosure:  I received the above product free of charge for the purpose of this review.  I received no other compensation, nor was I required to write a positive review.

    Hello Naomi –
Thank you so much for the lovely review! I just wanted to clarify on the custom board designs, if there is a customization fee.

Making simple changes or modifications, like changing the color, wording or column sizes, to current designs is no charge. So your changes to your whiteboard would have been no additional charge. And of course personalizing with a picture is always no charge.

However, truly custom designs, for example providing totally new graphics we don’t currently offer or requesting a custom size for your whiteboard, would be charged on a case-by-case basis. You can view some of our fully custom designs here for more examples of what we consider a fully custom design: https://tailormadewhiteboards.com/fully-custom

Thanks again, just wanted to clarify for you and your readers!
