Twister Dance Rave

Twister Dance Rave

I received a Twister Dance Rave game and let my daughter try it out.  This is an interesting take on the Twister game that includes music and allows a person to plug in their own mp3 player to use her own songs.

Twister Dance Rave Back of box

Here’s the official on the Twister Dance Rave:

Age: 8+; Players: 1-2; Available: Fall 2013; Approximate Retail Price: $34.99

It’s party time! The TWISTER DANCE RAVE game brings the fun with today’s hottest music, great speakers and LED lights that shine to create your very own dance floor. Girls will love learning dances and showing off their moves to songs from popular artists, or they can plug their own mp3 players into the console, turning virtually any song into a dance song! The party never ends as players continue to learn new dances by following the lights and moving to the beat on the iconic TWISTER spots in head-to-head or freestyle play. (Requires 4 AA batteries – demo batteries included).

It also comes 4 songs programmed in the device.  My daughter started with the first level of one of the songs, and that level seemed kind of slow, but the second level was significantly faster.

Twister Dance Rave in Use

When the color changes on the device, you move the foot on that side to the new color.  I noticed the color pads slid around a lot on the carpet.  You’ll want to wear socks while playing this game as the pads tend to stick to the feet.  It doesn’t seem as much of an issue with the original Twister, but it makes it harder with a fast-paced game like this.

This might be a good substitution for some of the pricier dance games ($24.84 at Walmart online), and my daughter seems to like it.  She says that it would be something that she would pull out to play occasionally.  Her favorite part is that the console can turn into a speaker for her.

Disclosure:  I received a Twister Dance Rave free of charge for the purpose of this review.  I received no other compensation.
