I received A Christmas Gift for Rose as a part of the Tricia Goyer launch team.
So, guess what I did this weekend? If you guessed “reading”, you are definitely correct! Only, it didn’t take me all weekend to read this book. I didn’t get to start reading this book until late at night. I had gotten up REALLY early that morning, but I kept reading until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I so didn’t want to put it down, but the words were blurring by that point. I got up the next morning and started reading again. I couldn’t put it down until I finished with a brief tear. Yes, girls, the end was a mild tearjerker, so make sure you have the tissues nearby.
Rose is young Amish woman whose world and the “Englisch” world collide as what she thought she knew changes. The man Rose loved spent time living among the “Englisch” during World War II, so Rose turned her back on him as the bishop wanted. Then, when Rose finds out that she is actually “Englisch”, Rose questions why her biological family gave her up. What will the community say if they find out Rose is really “Englisch”? Where is her biological family?
A Christmas Gift for Rose was riveting read! I had a really hard time putting it down to sleep! I LOVE the way Tricia Goyer writes because it is almost like she is in my house telling me the story in person. If you are looking for a book that will hold your attention and make you feel like you are part of the story, A Christmas Gift for Rose might be an option for you!
A Christmas Gift for Rose was released today! So, if you are ready to go buy it, you can get it from Amazon on Kindle for $7.99 or hardcover for $9.59 plus shipping.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of the above book for the purpose of this review. I received no other compensation, nor was I required to give a positive review. All opinions are mine.
