SHellFRNGiveawayGraphicWhy does it seem that every time an economist makes a prediction that the price of gas is going to go down, prices actually climb?  It’s hard to keep track, and even if the prices were to start dropping, it is already so high that it would still hurt the pocket book.  So, finding ways to save money at the pump is imperative!

When we lived in Arizona, we shopped at a particular grocery store that offered fuel rewards.  It was nice to slide the rewards card and see the price of gas drop because of our grocery purchases!  The Fuel Reward Network (FRN) is a little like that card we had.  FRN gives various ways to earn fuel rewards to use at a participating Shell station:

  • Online Mall – Access nearly 700 brand name online merchants offering 5 cents per gallon for every qualifying $50 spent. Some online merchants may offer 2x, 5x, 10x rewards or more – so consumers can multiply their savings!
  • Dining – Earn 10 cents per gallon for every qualifying $50 spent when dining at more than 10,000 participating restaurant locations nationwide.
  • Shell Fuel Rewards – Purchase specially marked products inside the convenience store as well as car washes and auto services at participating Shell stations and earn Fuel Rewards savings.
  • eCoupons – Digital coupons available for select retailers in select markets provide additional cents-per-gallon savings when the digital coupon is selected at fuelrewards.com and the item is subsequently purchased with the coupon at a participating retailer.
  • Grocery & Other Programs – Buy the everyday things you need and earn Fuel Rewards savings from participating FRN program grocery stores and retailers. Link your participating grocer or other retailers’ rewards card to your FRN Account to combine your rewards for even more savings at the pump at Shell in select markets.

NOT ALL SHELL STATIONS PARTICIPATE!  Check here to find one near you.  Learn more about FRN.

I am giving away 5 preloaded FRN cards.  One to each of five different winners.  If you are a winner, you must register your card to be able to use it.  These cards are preloaded with a $1.00 savings off up to 20 gallons of gas.  This savings MUST be used all at once, or it will reset to zero.  So, make sure your gas tank is near empty and/or take an empty gas can with you, if you are one of the winners.  Once you have registered it, you may continue taking advantage of ways to earn more rewards.

Here is how you register the card online:

  1. Visit fuelrewards.com and click “Sign Up.”
  2. Enter your information.
  3. Select “I have a card” and then “FRN Card” if you already picked up an FRN Card at a participating Shell station, or select “I need a card” to request one to be mailed to you.
  4. Enter your card number and card PIN (if you already have a card). Follow the steps to complete online enrollment.

Please read the rules and enter on the Rafflecopter widget below.

Rules: Giveaway starts at 2:45 am EST on January 31, 2013 and ends at 12:00 am EST on February 16, 2013. Open to U.S. residents 18 years old and older.  No purchase is necessary to win. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries collected.
