The Odd Life of Timothy Green Blu-ray Combo set is now available for purchase!  I did not see this movie in the theater, so I was happy to get an advance copy to review.

Official:

From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), and starring Golden Globe® winner Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Oscar® winner Dianne Wiest and CJ Adams as Timothy Green, comes this highly imaginative story about a happily married couple who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. Then one stormy night young Timothy shows up on their doorstep. Soon they and the small town in which they live learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts. The story is written by Ahmet Zappa (“American Gangster,” “Changeling”).

I will admit that a movie about a boy who comes from the ground and has leaves attached to his legs is not the highest on my “must-see” list; however, I really like Jennifer Garner.  While I was watching this movie, I realized there is much more to this movie.  There are a couple of messages that I got from this movie.
The first message is “hope”.  We all have hopes and dreams that we don’t want to give up on, and we shouldn’t.  Hopes and dreams can come true, so we shouldn’t just bury our dreams and move on.
The second is a message of bullying.  This movie really showed how destructive bullying can be.  Even though there was a lot of bullying, Timothy was still able to find a friend who understood him.  Don’t let bullies rule your world.  You can find a friend who will stick by you.
I have a couple of thought-provoking activity sheets to share with you today.  They are PDF downloads.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green Blu-ray Combo set contains a bonus feature that delves into the development of this story and what it took to bring it to life.
Don’t forget to add The Odd Life of Timothy Green to your Blu-ray/DVD library today!
Disclaimer:  I received a free copy of this movie for the purpose of this review.  I was not required to give a positive review, nor did I receive further compensation.

I think thisis very good. It addresses bullying. A lot is blamed on the schools. Rightfully so-the teacher’s hands are tied by the administration.
