Autism hits us very closely here at home, and I am happy to help support organizations that help raise awareness of Autism.  I think the hardest part of having a child with Autism is how other people react to him.  If only everyone knew what it was and that he is a person just like everyone else.  It should not keep him from getting needed healthcare, and it should not keep him from being treated just like everyone else.  The only problem is that many people don’t understand this.  It is then that we lean on organizations like Autism United to help educate the world about people like my son and how wonderful he is in spite of the challenges he is presented.

About Our Sponsor

This week’s Mission Giveaway is sponsored by Autism United, and they’re bringing you the opportunity to win TOMS glasses! One of Autism United’s featured merchants in their shop is TOMS. The well known company founded by Blake MyCoskie allows Autism United to work with them to help each other grow. TOMS is an amazing company, and it is built on a one for one model that has put over 1 million pairs of shoes on children in need.

With the TOMS eye wear line, One for One™ means more than just giving eyeglasses. While prescription eyeglasses are a part of the holistic eye care TOMS supports, they have learned that people’s needs can be quite different. Their approach is set up to be able to address the most widespread needs. So one person buys a pair of TOMS glasses, and one person receives the eye care that he or she needs.

The Mission Giveaway team would like to thank Autism United for sponsoring this amazing event. Autism United has taken the time to become a qualified resource for families and friends of autistic children. By helping raise public awareness of Autism through community education and services, Autism United has allowed themselves to become a renowned source for autistic help and information. We are proud to stand united with them in their efforts and are grateful for all that they do!
