“Like Webster’s Dictionary, we’re Morocco bound.” ~ Bing Crosby and Bob Hope in The Road to Morocco

The letter for today is the letter “K”!  It’s the ABCs of Homeschooling with Dawn over at 5 Kids and a Dog today.

I had to have help with the “K” word, and Don was nice enough to quickly come up with the word knowledge.  Knowledge is such a great word because it isn’t just the knowledge that we impart to our kids but the knowledge to know what works best for their learning styles.  To teach them in the way that they can remember easily.

We are teaching our kids the knowledge that they need to survive in the everyday life.  We are teaching them what they need to know to keep house and hold a job, but they need to know so much more.

With our knowledge, we are not Morocco bound; we are Heaven bound.  We are also teaching the knowledge to increase their desire to be bound for His Kingdom.  So there you have the last “K”!  We need to have knowledge for and of His Kingdom in our school to complement the knowledge for everyday life on this earth.

Very true! I think of all the things that my daughters have learned by being homeschooled that I never even learned in public school. It’s so much fun when we’re all learning together…makes whatever subject we’re learning about all that more a sense of discovery.

I agree! It is amazing how much more my kids have learned through traveling that we wouldn’t have been able to do if they were in school.

Yes! I would rather they have Kingdom knowledge than any other kind! 🙂 Great word!

Really, without that kind of knowledge, all other makes no difference.

    Kingdom! Now that’s a K word I didn’t think of! I like it. =)
We definitely teach our children both knowledge of this world and knowledge of His Kingdom, too.

Thank you! We certainly need knowledge for His Kingdom, along with the knowledge to live in this world.

Some great words. Knowledge (and I love how you applied knowledge to more than just book learning!)–and Kingdom–yes! Great job! Yes, I’m still catching up visiting around from last Wednesday’s letters.
