Trick or Treat Giveaway Hop

Everywhere I go, orange lights and skeletons are popping up.  We’re not huge Halloween fans, but it is fun to see the lights strung up like Christmas lights.  Soon the candy will be out, and the kids will be showing up on the doorstep.

Every year, there seems to be a disconnect on which day trick or treating will happen.  Since Halloween is on Saturday night this year, I hope that is when the trick or treaters will come around.

    My 11 year old can’t seem to make up his mind about trick or treating. A group of his friends are going though, so for right now it looks like that is what we will be doing.

    We will celebrate this year by trick or treating. My older kids are interested in the “beginnings” of customs so I will probably spend some time with them researching the start of Halloween and how other cultures might still celebrate.

    The kids are going out trick-or-treating with my mother in law on Halloween, my wife and I will be in NYC for the marathon on November 1st. We also have a some events the week before we will be attending.

    I live in a condo so I don’t get trick or treat kids here so I go to my girlfriends house who sets up a table in her driveway and I keep her company while she doles out candy to the many kids in her neighborhood.

    This year we were invited to a Halloween party. My husband and I are dressing up as a gangster and a flapper. This is the first time in 12 years that I have been able to get my husband to dress up on Halloween!

    We already started celebrating! Friday we went to a Halloween Event at Discovery World and yesterday we went to the local zoo’s trick or treat. Tuesday we’ll be carving pumpkins and then Saturday we’ll go to the Museum’s Halloween event and back home for trick or treating. It’s been a great time so far.

    My kids go out trick or treating, although I think my oldest won’t be going, she’s getting to old to go out she thinks. I will hand out candy. It’s our first Halloween in our new neighborhood!

    Halloween will be quiet and dark, will celebrate with my granddaughters over the phone, no one comes to our house cause we are in the country in the dark at the top of a unlit hill, so it will be quiet, I do have some candy if anyone is that brave, but it would be history making, so me and the hubby can eat the candy the day after lol.

    We celebrate halloween by decorating inside and out. Our 12 children love to help with this. We take the ones that go out trick or treating out and buy candy for the other ones. We grow our own pumpkins and decorate with them,

    We don’t get any trick or treaters here because we live at the end of a very dark and spooky dead end in the country, so my son is taking my grandson into town to trick or treat. I will be home alone…..Woohoo!! I plan on taking a nice long bath and then watching a scary movie. 😀
