Great Vacation Destinations for Families That Love the Outdoors

If you are looking to plan a fun-filled vacation for your family this year, these great vacation destinations for families that love the outdoors are perfect.  For fun adventures in hiking, swimming, white water rafting, and more; these are the best vacation destinations for you to choose.

Great Vacation Destinations For Families That Love The Outdoors

Coastal Oregon

From Portland to Astoria, there are literally hundreds of great outdoor adventures for families to enjoy.  Stay closer to Portland for fun city life, museums, zoo, and food.  Head out an hour or two away to the coast, and find the ocean for swimming, surfing, fishing, and boating.  Everywhere between will provide you with hiking trails, waterfalls, kayak adventures, and even some locations for special rafting experiences.  With mildly low humidity and temperatures in the summer, it is a great place to go for a fun outdoor experience without all the heat other areas have.

Central Arkansas

This quiet little state is full of rivers, lakes, mountains, and valleys to explore.  Hot Springs National Park is not only a city, but it has tons of forestry and lake areas that offer campsites, hiking trails, lakes for swimming and boating, and beautiful scenic views.  An hour to the North and Little Rock offers the city amenities along with great parks, hiking trails, bridges to explore, and Pinnacle Mountain to tackle.

Yellowstone National Park

This huge national park is the epitome of a great vacation destination for families that love the outdoors.  Natural hot springs, geysers, hiking trails, lakes, and more are all at the center of this beautiful and historical site.  Camp, stay in your RV, or rent a cabin or hotel room inside the park.  Take tours or go out hiking on your own to enjoy beauty that surpasses anything you’ve ever seen.

Yosemite National Park

From Redwood trees to lakes and everything in between, Yosemite offers a destination that suits everyone in your family.  Some areas offer a few amenities that you would find in the city with great cuisine and spa experiences, or you can simply rough it with tent and backpack throughout designated hiking and camping areas.  Yosemite will offer you more beautiful outdoor experiences than you could imagine.

Oahu, Hawaii

The island home of Honolulu isn’t just about the beaches and surfing.  There are dozens of hiking trails, waterfalls, and beautiful life to visit throughout the island.  Not only is it a great tropical experience, it is one place you will find amazing cuisine, nightlife, outdoor life, and hobbies all within a small 20 mile expanse.  Camping, hiking, fishing, and swimming are commonplace throughout the island.

No matter which of these great vacation destinations for families that love the outdoors you choose, you’ll be happy to find great adventures at every turn.  From spending time exploring in the woods to enjoying fun in the sun, these locations have great options for any family.  All are within a reasonable distance of a nice city for those times when you want to go back to the comforts of home.
