Best Rides to Cool Off at Disneyland

The summer heat can be oppressive when visiting Disney, but these best rides to cool off at Disneyland are a perfect way to relax and enjoy the park while also getting relief from the heat.  Disneyland is a great place to visit for a cooler theme park experience.  With the nearly perfect temperatures of Southern California and a multitude of places to cool off in air conditioning or shade, it is great for anyone to enjoy.

Best Rides To Cool Off At Disneyland

Monorail

Disneyland Railroad & the Disneyland Monorail

While these aren’t technically rides, they are tons of fun and offer the breeze as well as air conditioning you may be in need of.  They are also great for the entire family to enjoy.  If you are tired, hot, or simply want to relax for a few minutes, hop on and ride around the park with ease.  Or you can simply take the Monorail to Downtown Disney for shopping in air conditioned comfort.

Star Tours The Adventure Continues

Star Tours The Adventure Continues

This ride is indoors, in great air conditioning, and also offers you a typically shorter line than some other popular rides in the park.  Star Tours also offers a different experience with each trip.

Spash Mountain

Splash Mountain

This is a fun ride that will leave you a bit wet after the splash down.  This results in cooling you off, as well as leaving you laughing to see who got soaked more on the ride down.

Mark Twain

Mark Twain Riverboat and the Sailing Ship Columbia

Nothing is as nice as riding slowly around the river in the Mark Twain Riverboat.  Comfortable seats and an easy breeze and shade make this a favorite ride to cool off at Disneyland.  In addition, the Sailing Ship Columbia has a museum of sorts down in the hull, out of the direct sun.

Mr Toads Wild Ride

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride or Alice in Wonderland

Both of these are great fun rides for kids.  Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is a little more on the “dark” side for kids than Alice in Wonderland.  With Alice in Wonderland, you are met with coolness as you travel down, down, down the rabbit hole.  Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride has a room that is not so cool.  What’s great is that both of these rides are unique to Disneyland and not currently repeated in Walt Disney World.

Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin

This is an indoor ride that is dark, loud, and tons of fun.  It might not be for everyone on your list, but it is a great place to stop and cool off.  Both kids LOVE this ride, and they love watching me try to keep from spinning.

Matterhorn Bobsleds

Matterhorn Bobsleds

The Matterhorn Bobsleds is roller coaster ride that has undergone recent renovations.  It is a great place to get you cooled off with a bit of a breeze as well as tons of laughs and giggles.  Plus, the Matterhorn Bobsleds is the first tubular steel continuous track roller coaster ever constructed, so that makes it educational, too.  ðŸ˜‰

Its a Small World

“it’s a small world”

This is a personal favorite.  This classic ride was one of Walt Disney’s best creations featuring amazing puppetry and animatronics.  Although, I’m still not quite sure what I think about the characters that were added a few years ago.  This ride around the world is a great place to sit down, relax, and cool down a bit.

Astro Orbitor

Astro Orbitor

This fun ride spins you round and round in some cool little rockets that take you for a fun ride.  This is a perfect choice to cool you off thanks to the breeze from spinning around.

No matter what rides you choose to cool off at Disneyland, you’ll have the time of your life.  Disneyland is truly one of the most amazing vacation destinations you’ll ever have.  From great characters, amazing food, and rides that are suitable for the entire family; it is a much beloved travel destination.  Plan your trip in advance, and check out what rides are currently open.  You can quickly and easily map out your visit to include some of these great rides to cool off here and there along the way.
