We have been in Pennsylvania for 3 weeks now, and the kids and I have been exploring in between unpacking. We are starting to feel more relaxed as the boxes get fewer and fewer in our house. We have been blessed with some really nice neighbors, and that has made our transition a lot easier, too.
For our exploration this week, we headed out to a park on the Susquehanna River. The view from the overlook was just stunning, so much so, that we took Don there on the weekend. We have never lived in Pennsylvania before, but it reminds us so much of the Ozarks. It is so much fun to drive the windy, hilly roads in the country here.
Yesterday afternoon, we had a visitor in our back yard. He sat there for the longest time before escaping through a hole in the fence. I went out in the back yard to see if I could get a closer picture of him, and he actually let me get fairly close to him. Well, close enough that I could use the telephoto lens to get a decent photo of him.
Earlier in the weekend, we took a drive through the country to show Don some of the back roads we had found when we saw some animals in the road in front of us. It turned out to be a raccoon family crossing the road, single file. I’ve lived in the country most of my life, but I have never seen a raccoon family like that. It was so neat to see.
The kids seem to be adjusting well, as long as we take some time to explore and spend some time doing fun things. We are all enjoying getting out and doing things together. The teenager said that she likes it here in Pennsylvania and would like to stay here. I agree with her. Actually, I think we all do. We are so thankful that God brought us here and hope to be here for quite some time!
I want to take a moment here to put in a plug for Amanda Pelser. She is the person who redid my blog, and she helps me with the back end of my blog. If you are looking for some technical help with your blog, you can check out her rates and ask for a quote at http://thepelsers.com/va.
