Many of us are struggling right now, whether it be physically, emotionally, or financially. When we are struggling, it is hard to see the full picture. We only focus on what we can see. On what we can hear. On what we can feel.
This Spring, the kids and I had the opportunity to see this mother duck and her baby ducklings. When we first saw them, the mother was standing back, letting her babies roam around under her watchful eye. Soon, a swan lumbered their direction. The mother duck quickly beckoned her ducklings to her and herded them toward the water, putting herself between the swan and her babies.
This is how I envision our Savior protecting us. Only, I can’t see it, and I can’t always tell it is happening. Many times, I don’t realize what has occurred until after the fact when I say, “Duh! He already saw that one coming!”
Sometimes, I worry. I know I shouldn’t, but it is human nature to worry. Worry only causes stress, and most times, I can’t change things. Only God can! So, what am I looking for? What makes me worry less? The knowledge that I am safe under His wings. Just as the mother duck protected her babies, God is protecting me (and you) under His wings.

So true!! I worry A LOT. I always have but I have to say my faith has gotten stronger with all that life has handed us the past few years. Life is getting much better than it once was and I am feeling so blessed and a little more calm. Thank you for this post – great pic too! 🙂
