When I took DD12 to the Children’s Hospital last year, I saw this building set called Jawbones in the gift shop. I hadn’t seen them before, but DS9 certainly had a grand time playing with them in the gift shop! The second time we had to go to Children’s, I bought DS9 a small set to keep him busy while his sister was having her MRI.
For months, I have been looking for Jawbones, but I couldn’t find them in Walmart or Target. When I found them available online, I knew I had to share them with you! “Why?”, you might ask. Well, these building sets work so differently than many on the market.
The age requirements says 6+, but don’t think that this is only for the younger set! DD12 has loads of fun building things with these, too. There are all types of pieces, so you can build things that roll and things with joints. In the foreground of the above picture is DS9’s robot.
The fit of these pieces offers more resistance and requires a different grip than many other types of building sets, so it seems to work on hand-strength and fine-motor skills a little differently.
Jawbones comes with a book that shows different things that can be made with the kit, but my kids seem to just let their imagination take off. Either way, Jawbones offers LOTS of fun and imagination for kids 6+.
Jawbones is marketed by the BE Good Company, whose motto is Bringing out the child and childlike play in everyone…young and old!
Now, for the GIVEAWAY! The BE Good Company has been gracious enough to offer a 215 piece Jawbones set (just like I received to review) to one lucky winner.
Please read the Terms & Conditions in the Rafflecopter widget. Disclaimer: I received a 215 piece Jawbones set free of charge for the purpose of posting this review. The opinions stated above are mine, and I have received nothing else other than the joy of watching my children create things using their imagination while they work on their fine-motor skills.
