My flashback for today is from a trip to Disneyland at the beginning of the holiday season. It was during the first full week of the Christmas festivities and decorations last year. The guys decided to go back to the room before the fireworks started. DD12 and I stayed to watch the fireworks from in front of It’s a Small World. After the fireworks, we walked right onto It’s a Small World to ride. When we got off the ride, we noticed that everyone was being told that the stores on Main Street were closing early due to a “private” party. DD12 and I leisurely walked past an empty Mad Tea Party…
and past an empty Sleeping Beauty’s Castle onto a sparsely populated Main Street. I had a defective wallet that I wanted to return, and the security cast member was nice enough to let us into the Emporium to make the exchange. After our business was completed, we were escorted to the gate. DD12 couldn’t believe that we were the last ones out of the park.
While that might not sound like much to an adult, that was really cool to an eleven year old. When I took the kids back in February, we were “privileged” to be escorted out of Disney California Adventure Park after closing. DD12 was really excited to be able to say that she has now closed both parks.

That’s really cool. That’s not something I can say I’ve ever done. Love the teacup photo! 🙂

Thanks, Sarah! I have night owls, so we do better closing the park than making it to opening.
