Ok, I know I usually start with a picture, but I learned a lesson today from a bird. Yes, you read that right! A bird taught me a lesson. The kids both were supposed to have OT and PT sessions today, but after we got up and got dressed, we got a phone call saying that one of the therapists was sick. The kids are rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday. After the phone call, I opened the blinds on the back door. There was a much wider variety of birds than I had seen before. Usually, we just have Juncos, but today, we had three other kinds. There was one, in particular, that caught my eye.
This woodpecker didn’t stay in one place for very long. He was constantly going up and down the tree trunk. I wondered how he could get anything to eat if he didn’t stay still.
Then, I noticed the woodpecker looking at something. What was he looking at? Soon, he jumped…
…and was clinging for dear life. Soon, he was wondering what he was doing.
“Now, where am I supposed to get the bugs?” the woodpecker was probably thinking. He was looking for the “green grass.” He had a plan, but the plan didn’t seem to work out the way he wanted because he was soon back on the tree.
This made me think… I had my plans for Monday. I was going to take the kids to therapy. Then, we were going to go to the local school supply store to look for some things that I needed. Then, we were going to go grocery shopping before coming home to get some school work done. If things had worked out my way, I would have missed God’s plan. I would have missed the lesson in the bird.
My plans have kept me from stepping out and doing what should be done on many different occasions. I have decided to listen to His plans and join a group reading the Bible through Genesis through Revelation in 90 days. I don’t have time for this, but I’m sure that He will provide that time for me because it would be His plan.

Isn’t it amazing the way God leaves little lessons all around us? I wonder how many I miss each and everyday! BUT on those occasions when I do stumble upon one I am always in absolute awe of the wisdom of our Creator.
Wish I lived closer to you. I would love to get back to doing a good Bible study!

It is amazing how we can see more of God’s lessons if we only take the time. I would love to live closer to you, too, but we don’t have to live closer to do Bible study. I have joined the women at http://www.momstoolbox.com/blog/ in attempting to read the Bible in 90 days. When I am done, I’m sure that I will have written down many things that I want to go back and study. I’ve already found one thing…Genesis 14:14, 16. Why don’t you print out their reading schedule and join us? We can discuss things back and forth on FB. I’m getting ready to post and then off to read Gen. 17:1-28:19.
