It seems that many people have been bitten by the pin trading bug. Well, my kids have been bitten by that same bug. None of us really like to wear lanyards, and Disneyland discontinued the best kids’ pin trading books a couple of years ago. On our last trip, I carried my lanyard in my bag, and it was such a big hassle when the pin backs would come off the lanyard. So, it was up to me to find a solution. Warning: I am not a seamstress. I do not like sewing… Well, okay, I LOVE sewing for my… Read More
We loaded up the family truckster and took a road trip this weekend. We went to what I consider one of the most beautiful sights in the world, the Grand Canyon. The picture above was taken in the late afternoon as the shadows were starting to change, and the white in the upper layers were starting to be more prominent.
The trip to Disneyland is almost here! I am evaluating the apps that I will use most at Disneyland. Here are the top ten that I will use. 1. Twitter – Many nice people have tweeted pictures of their Disney World trips, and I want to reciprocate. 2. Gowalla – I was at Disneyland when the announcement of special stamps for check in at Disney Parks was announced. The geek in me immediately downloaded the app to try out on our last full day in the park. I have to say that it was fun to see what I could… Read More
I admit that my mind is racing. I have lots on my mind, little to do, and lots of time to do it in. Wait! Stop! Reverse that! I have lots to do and little time to do it in. My trip with the kids is coming up soon, and I have lots to do before we leave. I spent the day making pin trading books, and tomorrow evening will be spent making back packs. I cut out the material today, and it shouldn’t take too long to get the sewing done. I’ve also been working on cutting down the… Read More
What does it take to get a doctor to seriously look at a patient’s feet? Well, in our case, it took almost two years. Almost two years ago, DD11 developed petechiae on her feet. Petechiae are small red or purple spots caused by bleeding under the skin. As I have posted previously, DD11 has muscle weakness and an awkward gait. Anyway, we took DD11 to the pediatrician who ordered some lab tests to check for a decrease in platelets. Everything was normal. We were told that everything was fine but to call back if she got any more. Well, she… Read More
What is more important in the grand scheme of things: the company or the customer? I go to Disney Parks for one main reason: the attention to detail and the care for the “little” people who frequent their establishment. As a homeschooling family, we must make sure that we get the greatest value and experience for our money spent. I’m sure that many of you reading this try to obtain the same things. I’m bring this up because I messed up today. The kids had physical therapy today and Charlie was off, so we took the occasion to go to… Read More
It’s Amazing What Water and a Broom Will Become if Put in the Right Hands! The custodial cast member in the left side of Mickey performed this magic artwork before our eyes. What is so amazing about this is that she said that she could not draw Mickey on paper with a pencil. She can only do this with water and a broom. Isn’t this amazing! What attention to detail at Walt Disney World!
190 foot cross at Groom, Texas I was going to type about our homeschooling plans for this week, but I’m distracted. This is usually my time, but I still hear sounds from down the hall. Scraping sounds on a door frame. A leg ever so slightly placed outside a bedroom door. Hmmm. It’s after 10:30 pm. Will DS7 ever go to sleep? He is my night owl and early bird rolled into one. This is my time to plan our Disney trip. Work on the kids’ journal pages for the trip. Plan science around rides in the park. Watch my… Read More
