190 foot cross at Groom, Texas I was going to type about our homeschooling plans for this week, but I’m distracted. This is usually my time, but I still hear sounds from down the hall. Scraping sounds on a door frame. A leg ever so slightly placed outside a bedroom door. Hmmm. It’s after 10:30 pm. Will DS7 ever go to sleep? He is my night owl and early bird rolled into one. This is my time to plan our Disney trip. Work on the kids’ journal pages for the trip. Plan science around rides in the park. Watch my… Read More
DD11 and I just finished reading Day 12 of the Bible in 90 days. She has gone to bed, and it is dark and quiet in the house. I’m thinking… Sometimes, my thinking can be dangerous but not tonight. Tonight, I’m thinking about why I’m reading the Bible in 90 days. I’ve read most of the Bible throughout my life, but I’ve never successfully completed a cover-to-cover plan before. I’ve tried the year-long reading plans, but most of the ones that I have seen had me skipping throughout the Bible. That never worked for me. Back to the question, though…. Read More
My trial shirt before going to Joanne’s tomorrow! I’m starting to get a little scared worried concerned about taking the kids to Disneyland by myself. When they were much younger, I would take them to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO quite frequently, but that is a much smaller park. That usually never entailed more than a couple of nights in a hotel. The travel is not what really scares me. There are only so many places that they can jump off the train at, right? My main concern is that both of my kids are “runners”, and I don’t mean… Read More
So, this is a test for me. In just under a month, the kids and I will be heading to Disneyland. Since Charlie is not going, I have decided not to lug the computer with. Will I still be able to blog? Will the iPhone WordPress app work for me? Ok. I was able to type this on the app but not preview it. No biggie! Yay! I will be able to keep going.
Visualizing the sanctuary can be so difficult… DD11 and I are reading the Bible in 90 days with Mom’s Toolbox, and we have just finished Exodus. Sometimes, it is difficult to really picture what the scripture is describing when so many details are put in such a small amount of text. Several years ago, DD11 (then 6) and I had the blessing of seeing the sanctuary in real life size. It is the mission of a small Christian school in Oklahoma to travel with this sanctuary, explaining the purpose behind the symbolism. I am going to insert some of my… Read More
So, on Day 3… DD11 says, “Mom, I want to read the Bible in 90 days with you.” I had started the 90 day program with www.MomsToolbox.com on Monday, and now on Wednesday, DD11 wanted to start reading, too. Wednesday night after DS7 went to bed, we sat together and read the Bible, just DD11 and I. She read Day 1 and half of Day 2, and I read Day 3. Tonight, she and I read together again. By Day 6, she will be caught up to the group and reading with us. I am so happy that she has… Read More
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail No one wanted to do school work today; however, it had to be done! We did Bible and writing first. Math was the worst! For some of DD11’s school work, she is supposed to be working at a board hanging on the wall to force her to use her arm muscles. Most of her problems were done one-by-one on the board. It seemed to take forever, but once she was ready to do the rest of her problems in her book, I took DS7 out to the living room to read his history. The subject for… Read More
