We turned on the Superbowl (and associated preshow) on Fox today, like we have for many years in the past. Something was different this time. It just wasn’t the same. To start with, the words of “The Star-Spangled Banner” were botched, but it wasn’t just that. Call me a classical girl if you want, but our National Anthem is really not that difficult of a song to sing. Most of us have grown up singing it. Since many states are snowed in and our’s is frozen in, I thought that I would post a picture for us all to dream on. A few years ago, Charlie and I took the kids on their first trip to Disneyland and the beach. Actually, it was Charlie’s first trip, too. One of the places we visited was Huntington Beach. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere while walking on the beach. The sunset was gorgeous! Hopefully, we’ll get to go there again, sometime! I’ll take the beach over 3 degree temperatures (-15 to -30 degree windchill) any day!
I snapped this picture as my kids were watching the 2011 Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD. Of course, they were watching the Disneyland portion, but I’m sure that they will watch the Walt Disney World part after our Disneyland trip. This is one of the few peaceful moments in the last couple of weeks as the excitement has grown.
We are now one week away from our mom and kids trip to the “Happiest Place on Earth“. In order to make sure that we get to experience their favorites while there, we have made a top ten list of their most important activities. 10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.
The above picture is representative of the mood in our house! The kids and I leave in just over a week, and the kids are bouncy. They can’t stand the excitement! This is a birthday trip for DS7, and he will not let us forget it. Because of the excitement, it is even harder to get the school work done. Both kids have appointments tomorrow, if we can get out to the main street. Appointment days are always hard days to push school work.
