Lookin’ Good with Moody Sisters
While I am different than other teenagers in some ways, there is at least one way in that I am similar to almost every other girl: I like to look nice. I like to put on a dress, fix my hair, and put on the makeup I have (which mostly consists of lip gloss). I don’t wear that much makeup, but the Moody Sisters sent me some makeup to review.
Moody Sisters started when two sisters wanted to find products that weren’t too expensive and could work with their crazy skin. But, not finding anything, they decided to make their own. They have everything from makeup, to body washes, to face cleansers, to deodorants. Everything is natural and organic, which means it’s safe for sensitive skin. They have a shop on Etsy if you like going there. I got five items from them to review: a stick of pink tinted lip balm, some Dreamy eye color, a brush for the eye color, some Lovely Lavender aromatherapy oil, and a sample of whipped body butter. I haven’t tried the body butter yet; I’m saving it for a special occasion. Anyways, onto the reviews!
First, we have the Lovely Lavender Aromatherapy Oil. I must admit that it’s the first thing I tried out. As you can see above, the tube is small enough to slip into your purse. However, that’s not how I used it. I put a little on my wrists before I went to bed one night (lavender is said to help put you to sleep), and I was surprised how well it did. Within a minute or so, it had dried up a little bit; enough that it wouldn’t rub off on the sheets but not enough to take away the smell. The smell remained for quite a while, and it’s very relaxing. Moody Sisters has four other types of Aromatherapy Oil: Vanilla Chai, Sweet Orange, Pink Grapefruit, and Mint Julep.
Next, we have Pink Tinted Lip Balm. I like the oval shape of the container. Compared to the usual round container, this one covers the lips with fewer strokes. It might also fit better in your purse or pocket. Now, I must admit that this formula wasn’t as smooth as I expected, but I imagine that the smoothness of other lip balms may come from non-natural sources. The website says that this balm will help with flaky lips. I have a problem with that, so I’m hoping this will help. There are three other colors; Plum, Berry, and Coral.
Finally, we have the Dreamy Eye Color and the Multi-Tasker Brush. I’ve never worn eye color before, but I was willing to give it a shot. I found that this particular eye color was almost invisible. You would have to look really closely to notice I was wearing any, although the sparkles might give it away. After I figured out how to use the brush, I was able to put it on quite easily. Would you like to see?
That’s what the eye color looks like on a person. If not for the sparkles, even I wouldn’t be able to tell that it was there. It’s not distracting, and it is light enough for day-to-day use. I like this color, but there is a large variety on the website.
So, there you have it! I love how these products work together and in everyday life. The best part? They’re really affordable. The lip balm is only $5.50. But, what I reviewed are not the only things Moody Sisters sells. Mom has some coffee scented thing eyed up, and I’m thinking about getting some more things. Overall, I’m very happy with how these products work, and I might be buying more in the future. Do you have some crazy skin that only works with certain products? Have you tried Moody Sisters in the past?
Disclosure: The Moody Sisters sent me free items for review. I received no other compensation, and all opinions are mine.
