Thank you to Therafit for sending me a free pair of athletic shoes to try out for the purpose of this review.
I have a goal to lose some weight and get more healthy. To do this, I need to increase my walking, but my shoes were worn out, and I need something with a little more cushioning in the heel. I have a horrible time finding athletic shoes that are comfortable for lots of walking or standing. I had heard a little about Therafit Shoe and asked if I could give them a try. They not only said I could try them but that I could give one of my readers a pair, too. So make sure you keep reading…
When my box arrived, I opened it to find my new shoes (Deborah Women’s Sneaker in Silver/Blue – $95) wrapped up like a present. What a nice presentation!
One of the things that I love about Therafit is that they are not just about the shoe, they are about designing the shoe for women. How many times have you gone to try on an athletic shoe at the store and find that they all seem to be about the same? Therafit is definitely different than any other athletic shoe than I have ever tried before. And the DVD that Therafit includes with the shoes explains the how and why of the shoes. I do want to share a video clip showing the construction of the shoe.
Below is a close up of the pegs that can be removed to change the shock absorption. They are easy to remove and reinsert. Personally, I like the shoes with all of them in, so I haven’t really worn them with the pegs removed. Why mess with what works for me. Did you like how the shoes were specifically designed for women? I certainly do.
One of the things that I was told is that the athletic shoes run small and to order the next size up. Well, depending on the shoe, I usually wear a 9 1/2 or a 10. My most recent shoes were a size 10, so I went with an 11. Because Therafit doesn’t have a half size between 10 and 11, the normal advice didn’t really work for me. But never fear, Therafit was right on top of it, and a size 10 was sent to me very shortly. Their customer service was top-notch!
One thing to note is that these shoes don’t have a real arch support. This is a problem that I have with just about every shoe I have purchased over the years, and it is nothing new for me to pop in an arch support insert. It’s not a deal breaker for me. Just a FYI that you may need to get inserts for your personal needs. My Therafit shoes have inserts that pop out easily making way for any insert that you would need to put in. I’m looking forward to increasing my walking with my new Therafit shoes!
