Recently, I received this beautiful book in the mail. It is the story of Willow, a young girl who is blind. When Willow hears the raindrops fall, she talks her mother into going outside to walk barefoot in the rain. Her mother speaks to Willow about the colors of the rainbow and describes them to Willow by using tangible items, like leaves and tomatoes. It’s touching how Willow’s mother takes her around and uses a sensory-friendly approach to explain the colors.
I loved the storyline; however, my beliefs are not in line with the “Nature speaking” and “Mother Earth” point of view of the author. Although I may not agree with this, it did provide an opportunity to talk with the kids about different viewpoints and beliefs, and then, we continued on with the heartwarming story of Willow and her mother.
This book is printed in an enviromentally-friendly way utilizing an Eco-Friendly Printer. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this book go towards supporting nature and environmental organizations.

I learned about her symbolism of the rainbow and love.
“The idea behind the project is that truly love is the thread that links us all and continues to be so through out our lives and all life, while rainbow has been a treasure to share, it is the celebrated feedback from each of you that has touched my heart in ways that will forever be imprinted to all that which is love. Although Rainbow gives back regularly to environmental/nature organization, I felt/heard it time to share on a universal plane, by collectively creating a heart shaped fabric piece of art with various cloths thus it will then share the message of the love that links us all. So here’s how rainbow heart wishes creation to grow to be in design. “
